RO not switching on

No power, the indicator is off, or the pump is not running.

Why this happens

  • No power at the socket, or a faulty adaptor (SMPS)
  • A loose connection or a tripped switch
  • A stuck float switch (it thinks the tank is full)
  • A pump failure

Safe checks you can try

  1. Check the socket has power and the adaptor light is on
  2. Try another socket
  3. Check whether the tank is actually full (the RO stops correctly when full)
  4. A dead adaptor or pump needs a technician to replace the SMPS or pump
The RO stops on its own when the tank is full. That is normal, not a fault.
